Laura is a graduate from Syracuse University’s Master of Arts (MA) Marriage and Family Therapy degree program. She is passionate about helping individuals, couples and families navigate life’s challenges, while building a healthy therapeutic rapport in a safe, respectful and non-judgmental space. Laura identifies a first generation Hispanic-American, culturally sensitive and competent bilingual (Spanish) Marriage and Family Therapist who aligns with the Gottman Method, Narrative, Solution Focused, Emotionally Focused, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies. She has completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couple Therapy and uses it in her work. Laura has been providing therapeutic services to individuals, families, couples, adults, adolescents and children as an empathic, compassionate and collaborative therapist utilizing a person-centered, strength-based approach. She has worked with people with disabilities and is a mentor for a non profit organization empowering college students with disabilities with their career paths.
She also earned her Master of Arts in Disability Studies from CUNY The Graduate Center and has been working as an addiction professional for several years as a NYS CASAC Level 2, Credentialed Recovery Peer Advocate (NYS CRPA) and Credentialed Addiction Recovery Coach (NYS CARC). Laura is certified in Batterer’s Intervention The Duluth Model, Creating a Change for Men Who Batter.
